I had birria, asada, and suadero. All were outstanding. The plate came undressed so all of the decoration is my doing. Totally fresh. Meat was cooked on-site. Served with onion soup (caldo?) that was delicious. Great value for a hearty meal.

We have tried over 5 birria street taco places & this one takes the cake. The absolute best quality meat & always fresh: you can tell they put a lot of love into it. the service is the best we’ve seen in the bay. Been here 30+ times and never been sick. I recommend this spot for anyone visiting Nuevo Vallarta !

My first experience Tacos Balta was walking by one morning. The smell amazing but I had just eaten breakfast so I wasn't hungry. We returned a few days later just as the customers were coming in. I walked up to the grill and asked the chef to explain. We took his recommendation and ordered 2 birria tacos and 3 suadera tortillas. We had our order brought over within a couple of minutes. We were not disappointed!!! Everything was delicious. Birria tacos are meat filled and cheese filled tacos. You can dress them up with various sauces available at the table of sauces. The suadero is fried beef served on 2 tortillas. This is my favorite , less greasy and more flavorful than the tacos in my opinion. Again, this can be fixed up with the limes and various sauces available. The entire meal , 2 tacos and 3 suadero and a coke cost a whopping 120 pesos , 130 with the tip....lol. Atmosphere is rustic , next-to-the-dusty road Mexico. Don't be afraid!!!, relax, go with the flow and ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Friendly service. Warning ....only open until about 2 pm May be habit forming. We will be back for sure!!!!

This place is incredible. Amazing food, great selection of salsas and the freshest juice I’ve had in years, all for less than $10 cad. Will most certainly be returning every time I’m back in Mexico.

This place is great!! I highly recommend it. Staff is the best and the birria tacos RULE!! Not your typical place but do not pass by without grabbing some great food!! Take out is always hot and you’re supplied with a ton of toppings to take with you. We CRAVE these when we leave Nuevo Vallarta!

We told our taxi driver to drive us to a restaurant to get birria tacos. He suggested we go to “tacos de Birria Balta” instead. We are so glad we listened! It was the best Birria I (& my whole group of well worn travelers) have ever had! The bar of fresh fixings made the tacos even better. Our taxi driver warned us Balta was a taco stand not a restaurant, which didn’t deter us at all. There was a table across the street at OXXO & meeting some locals made the experience even better! I like to think I discovered Mexico’s best Birria!
